Welcome to the American Youth Academy Home of the AYA Eagles!
AYA was established in 1992 and currently serves about 720 students from pre-K to 12th grade. In 2014 AYA achieved IB World School status.
AYA is located in Tampa; one of the fastest growing communities in the United States. AYA has played an essential role in the growth of Muslims throughout the Tampa Bay area. In 2009, AYA was awarded full accreditation by the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS-CASI). In addition, AYA's preschool program (Ages 3 – 4) is fully licensed and has been awarded Gold Seal Status. AYA has launched an expansion project on the beautiful 113,000+ square foot campus to include a new building with gymnasium and multipurpose hall to accommodate over 1,200 students. AYA firmly believes in and encourages collaboration at all levels of the school: Among Administrators, teachers, students, parents and between all groups. AYA also focuses on the student as a whole and not only on academics. The school encourages athleticism, proper nutrition, voluntarism and service, and strong moral character. All of these characteristics of the school, when put together and when combined with the school's strong emphasis on parent involvement, makes AYA attractive to families within the Tampa Bay Area and to families who move to Tampa from within the United States and from overseas to enroll their children in the school.
AYA was also chosen from among 2000 private schools in Florida to receive the Governor's Shine Award on September 24, 2013, because of AYA's outstanding commitment to the importance of school-parent partnerships as demonstrated through its work with Success Partners.
