ATHLETICS: WINNING THE RIGHT WAY
It is our belief that the sunnah of our beloved Prophet Mohammed (sw) should be implemented in every part of our lives and sports is no exception. AYA students are expected to play with and have shown heart, spirit, and the best of Islamic character. Every day, every minute and every second is a blessing, a responsibility and an opportunity to shine the light of our iman through our conduct (sportsmanship), leadership and actions that positively affect the lives of others .
"There is nothing which is heavier upon the balance than the good character.” Reported by Muslim (4/1362/no. 6226)

Participation in our athletics program is a privilege. Student athletes are role models. We expect our student athletes to rise to a higher standard. We believe the value of athletic competition complements the mission of AYA. Participation in athletics provides students with an opportunity to grow in the manifestation of Islamic character as they face and conquer challenges faced within the team and amongst the competition.
Our student athletes experience growth as they strive to master traits of selflessness, diligence, self-control, patience, courage, perseverance, humility and submission. These experiences translate directly to real life during and after these formative school years.
“The best of you is he from whom good is anticipated and safety from his evil is assured; the worst of you is he from whom nothing good is expected and one is not safe from his evil.” (Tirmidhi, Sahih)

OUR PHILOSOPHY
It is anticipated that participation levels will increase as the word spreads of the many great things happening with Eagle Athletics. In the future, we hope to broaden our selection of sports at the high school level and to add middle school level sports programs for boys and girls.
An integral part of building our programs will be joining the Florida High School Athletics Association (FHSAA). We will prepare and submit the application and supporting documentation in April and should be granted provisional membership status for the 2021 – 2022 school year. Membership in FHSAA will bring many benefits to our athletes and teams.
Without a doubt, the most crucial element in this process is parental/community support. We will be working hard to find many ways in which parents can contribute to the development of our programs, so everyone will find some way to help that suits their interest or skill set.
Please check back in from time to time. As schedules are filled in, they will be posted. As events are scheduled, they will be made public. This promises to be a busy and rewarding year for Eagles Athletics.
The time is now!

Preseason Rationale & Goals
Parenting and coaching are both quite rewarding. Both can also be challenging at times. Parents are an integral part of our team community. With that in mind, we offer our preseason meeting rationale, goals, and a communication guide.
Preseason Meeting Rationale
We have preseason meetings to provide an opportunity for coaches, student-athletes and parents to get together in an informal setting. Through such meetings, the opportunity for growth and development of the team, and the student-athlete is enhanced. The meetings provide a forum for student-athletes, parents and the coaching staff to openly discuss a variety of issues, such as sportsmanship, school policy, risk of injury, and team rules and expectations. They serve to foster the dialogue that lays the groundwork for real collaboration toward a healthy and strong program.
