Dear Friend and Supporter of American Youth Academy,
Assalamu Alaikum, American Youth Academy, also known as AYA, is home to over 720 students in grades PK3 to 12th grade, and is one of the leading Muslim educational institutions in the Tampa area. With a focus on academic excellence rooted in Islamic values, it proudly boasts a 100% graduation rate and produces National Merit Finalists and Ivy League admissions that include John Hopkins, Duke and MIT. AYA students participate in the Scripps’s Spelling Bee, National Geographic’s competition, Regional Science Fair sponsored by the Hillsborough County, MIST competition, Quran competitions, Arabic competitions, National essay competitions, Poetry competitions, Art competitions, social service projects and sports programs, which are all offered annually. Students not only participate in numerous extracurricular, academic and several sports programs, but also compete and win in various state and regional events. With the vision of the Board of Trustees leadership, the collaborative efforts of the administrative team, dedication of the staff, and support of the parents and community, AYA is well-prepared to guide the students to the next level of success. We continue to set and complete short-term and long-term goals to include the introduction and expansion of a fast growing and competitive IB program, and the offering of extracurricular activities. With a steadfast focus on providing a challenging program of studies for the students, we have obtained accreditation from the leading international school accreditation agency, Cognia, as well as the Florida Council of Independent Schools. The school is currently led by the head of school, four division leads, operations manager and numerous support staff. They work collaboratively with the administrative team, support staff and faculty to review and implement policies that will maximize the educational quality of all programs. The highest priorities for the upcoming year include retention of top faculty with increased professional development for the staff, increased parental engagement, meaningful leadership opportunities for the students, integration of the character education program into all subjects, and improving the curriculum for Arabic and Quran. These initiatives will, Insha’Allah, further enrich the experience for our students. We are confident that our collective efforts provide an excellent education that is supported by a nurturing Islamic environment. We thank you for your continued support of AYA. |
