Breakfast and Lunch Program 2021-2022

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our Parents and Guardians from American Youth Academy Food Service Department.
Children need healthy meals to learn.
American Youth Academy offers healthy meals every school day.
We are pleased to inform you that American Youth Academy will be implementing an option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for School Year 2022-2023.
Schools that participate in the CEP are able to provide every day free healthy breakfast and lunch to ALL students enrolled in the school during the 2022-2023 School Year.
NO APPLICATION NEEDED for the school year 2022-2023
All students are eligible for FREE Breakfast and Lunch Every Day.

Lunch:
Lunch will be served in the Cafeteria for the Grades 1st-12th at different periods
K3-K5 students will Lunch will be served in a designated classroom.
Lunch Meal contains five items:
1 Fruit, 1 Vegetable, 1 Grain, 1 Meat or Meat alternative and 1 Milk.
All students are eligible for one free Lunch meal, to complete the meal each student has to choose from three up to five items of the menu items and one of the items has to be Fruit or Vegetable, 100% juice is credited toward Fruits.
Additional meal cost $5.00
Breakfast:
Students wishing to eat breakfast at school must arrive in the cafeteria between 7:15- 7:40 am. Breakfast will NOT be served after 7:45 am. This is to ensure that students arrive to class and/or Assembly on time.
All students are eligible for one free Breakfast meal, to complete the meal each student has to choose from three to four items off the menu items, one of the items has to be Fruits, 100% juice is credited toward Fruits.
Additional Meal cost $3.50
Parents of students with allergies or special diets MUST provide the Cafeteria Manager a doctor’s note stating allergens needing to be avoided or special diet needs. The parent will need to pack lunches for their child(ren) on days their child(ren) cannot eat the school lunch. The school cannot provide a substitute meal for students with allergies or special diets.
All of our cafeteria staff receives yearly training in HACCP principles, (Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points) a comprehensive federal and state food safety program designed to track food from delivery to service. The Cafeteria Manager is certified in ‘ServSafe’, a federal program administered by the National Restaurant Association and Food Allergy Awareness.
In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity (including gender expression), sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity, in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA (not all bases apply to all programs).
