COMMUNITY SERVICE

At American Youth Academy, we deeply value the core Islamic principle of offering service to the community and helping those in need. As a reflection of this belief, we have made Community Service a requirement for high school graduation. Engaging in community service not only aligns with our spiritual values but also serves as an essential component for some scholarships and enhances college applications for specific programs.

We take great satisfaction in providing numerous opportunities for our students to earn community service hours both on and off-campus. On-campus options are readily available, and students are encouraged to explore off-campus opportunities as well. Some off-campus options include volunteering at places such as MOSI, Project Downtown, local hospitals, nursing homes, and libraries, among many others.

To meet the requirements, students need to fulfill the following community service hour targets:

  • AYA Graduation & Florida Bright Futures Medallion Scholarship: 75 hours
  • Florida Bright Futures Academic Scholarship: 100 hours

For students in the IB Program, specific details regarding Community Service can be obtained from the IB Coordinator.

We believe that engaging in community service not only instills valuable life lessons but also empowers our students to become responsible, compassionate, and active contributors to society. Should you have any inquiries or need more information, please feel free to reach out to AYA's Academic Advisor. Together, we strive to make a positive impact on our community and beyond through acts of service and selflessness.
