Early Childhood Curriculum

At AYA's Early Childhood program, we cultivate an enriching environment that supports the holistic development of young children. Grounded in The Creative Curriculum for Preschool, our approach empowers children to become confident, creative, and compassionate learners through hands-on, play-based investigations. This research-backed methodology seamlessly integrates language, literacy, and mathematics into daily activities. Our commitment to learning centers encourages critical thinking as children freely engage in activities such as building, drawing, and dramatic play.

Moreover, we integrate Islamic teachings into our curriculum, fostering an environment where children can explore and embrace their Muslim identity. By actively involving parents, we ensure a collaborative approach to nurturing each family's cultural and educational values.

Our developmentally appropriate curriculum covers the following areas:
  • Islamic Studies and Arabic Language Studies
  • Language Development and Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Science and Nature
  • Social and Emotional Skills
  • Physical Education
  • Arts and Crafts

Our Early Childhood programs cater to children aged three to five years old.

At AYA, we maintain an Open Door Policy, warmly welcoming parents and guardians to visit our classrooms and observe our Early Childhood Program.

Our committed team consists of compassionate individuals who fulfill the educational and training criteria for their respective roles. Our VPK teachers hold at least a bachelor's degree and have completed 45 hours of training, including specialized VPK instructor training. Our Preschool teachers hold at least a Child Development Associate certification.

All staff members regularly engage in continuing education and in-service training, ensuring their skills and knowledge stay up to date. CPR certification, First Aid training, and Level II Background Clearance provided through the Department of Children and Families are mandatory for our teaching professionals.
