Secondary Curriculum

AYA is dedicated to providing a highly rigorous curriculum that empowers students to reach their full potential. Aligned with the Florida Sunshine State Standards, our curriculum also offers the option to pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma, setting the stage for academic excellence. At AYA, students receive comprehensive instruction in Language Arts/English, Maths, Science, Social Studies, Arabic, Qur'an, Islamic Studies, Art, Physical Education, and various computer courses tailored to different skill levels. Moreover, our middle school students actively engage in a rigorous writing program to enhance their communication skills.

Secondary students, encompassing grades 6 - 12, find a nurturing environment that fosters personal and social development, while also nurturing their Islamic values and character.

We provide high school students with a range of specialized tracks to cater to their diverse abilities, interests, and aspirations, including the prestigious IB Diploma, University Track, and AP courses.

HONORS CREDIT
Recognizing the academic aptitude of our students, we designate Honors Credit to courses that meet an Honors Level standard. The decision is made based on a thorough comparison with the rigor of honors-level classes in other esteemed private schools.

DUAL ENROLLMENT
Our Dual Enrollment program allows motivated students in grades 10 - 12 to embark on an accelerated path by taking postsecondary coursework, earning credits towards a Baccalaureate degree at a Florida public or eligible private institution.

Florida Virtual School (FLVS)
To accommodate highly motivated learners, grades 7 - 12 students have the opportunity to enroll in coursework offered through the Florida Virtual School (FLVS). With no cost for Florida residents, this option provides enriching supplementary courses, which must be approved by the administration and should be taken for enrichment purposes, rather than replacing AYA's core courses.
