Since 1992, American Youth Academy (AYA) has been a beacon of excellence in education, serving approximately 1000 students from pre-K to 12th grade. Our journey began with a simple yet profound mission: to align our practices with Islamic values and teachings, reflecting them in every aspect of our daily routines and interactions.

Located in the heart of Tampa, one of the fastest-growing communities in the United States, AYA has played a pivotal role in fostering the growth of Muslims throughout the Tampa Bay area. We take immense pride in being the only IB Islamic school in the state of Florida, earning IB World School status in 2014.

Accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS-CASI) in 2009, AYA's commitment to academic excellence and holistic development is unwavering.

Our beautiful 113,000+ square foot campus, set against the backdrop of Tampa's vibrant community, is a testament to our dedication to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students. We firmly believe in collaboration at all levels, be it among administrators, teachers, students, parents, or different groups.
Since its founding, AYA has been dedicated to effectively supporting students with varying abilities and exceptionalities through well-crafted programs. Collaborating with professionals from both the public school system and the private sector, we ensure that our students' diverse needs are met with utmost care.

AYA boasts an array of exceptional academic opportunities, including an Honors program for students in grades 6 - 12, AP coursework for grades 9 – 12, and the esteemed IB Diploma Program for grades 11 and 12. Recognizing the value of a globally recognized education, we proudly earned the prestigious status of an IB World School Offering the Diploma Programme on October 8, 2014, joining the ranks of over 3,900 IB World Schools spanning 147 countries.

At AYA, we embrace a holistic approach to student development, valuing not only academic excellence but also encouraging athleticism, proper nutrition, voluntarism and service, and the cultivation of strong moral character. Combined with our unwavering emphasis on parent involvement, AYA becomes an attractive choice for families both within the Tampa Bay Area and those relocating from the United States or overseas, seeking an enriching educational experience for their children.

Welcome to AYA, where our shared motto "Working together for every student's success" drives our commitment to excellence in education and the holistic development of each individual. Join us as we embark on a journey of growth, empowerment, and achievement, collectively shaping a brighter future for every student who walks through our doors.
