Title: Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies Department Lead
Job Duties:
- Develop, review, and update the curriculum to ensure it meets educational standards and
the needs of students at different grade levels. - Exhibit a comprehensive understanding and expertise in relevant curriculum areas
particularly in alignment with the ACTFL standards for Arabic, as well as Fiqh, Aqeedah,
Islamic history, and Quranic Tajweed. - Provide leadership and direction for the Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies department.
- Collect data regarding students' needs and achievement, including assessments and other pertinent information affecting the design and implementation of services and programs, using the information to recommend new programs and modifications to existing
programs. - Serve as a role model for students, dress appropriately, demonstrate the importance and
relevance of learning, accept responsibility, and demonstrate pride in the education
Profession. - Maintain visibility with students, staff, parents, and the community, regularly attending
school and community functions to demonstrate a genuine interest in the students and
staff. - Observe strictly, to avoid the appearance of conflict, all requirements of the School
Ethics. Promote and organize events and activities that involve the school community, such as
Quran competitions, Islamic cultural events, and community service projects.
These duties ensure that the Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies Department Lead plays a pivotal
role in promoting Islamic education and fostering a positive learning environment for students.
Supervision: Supervise 15 employees, which include: The Quaran, the Arabic and Islamic
studies teachers.
Education: Master’s Degree or its foreign equivalent in Islamic Studies or a closely related
subject matter.
Experience: 3 years of experience in the job offered or as an Islamic Teacher.
Skills: 2 years of experience to include, 2 years of experience in:
- Memorizing and accurately reciting verses from the Quran.
Foreign Language requirement: Must be able to speak, read and write Arabic and English
fluently.
Hours:
- Number of hours per week: 40 hours per week
- Daily Work Schedule: Mon to Fri 7:30 a.m. to 4:00p.m. (30-minute lunch)
