ATHLETICS: WINNING THE RIGHT WAY

At American Youth Academy (AYA), we believe in implementing the sunnah of our beloved Prophet Mohammed (sw) in every aspect of our lives, including sports. Our students are encouraged to play with heart, spirit, and the best of Islamic character. We view every moment as a blessing, a responsibility, and an opportunity to reflect the light of our iman through our conduct, sportsmanship, leadership, and actions that positively impact others.

"There is nothing which is heavier upon the balance than good character." (Reported by Muslim)

Participation in our athletics program is seen as a privilege, and our student athletes are considered role models. We hold them to a higher standard, understanding that the value of athletic competition complements AYA's mission. Through sports, our students have the chance to grow in the manifestation of Islamic character, as they face and overcome challenges within the team and against competitors.

Our student athletes experience personal growth as they strive to master traits like selflessness, diligence, self-control, patience, courage, perseverance, humility, and submission. These experiences directly translate to real-life situations during and after their formative school years.

"The best of you is he from whom good is anticipated and safety from his evil is assured; the worst of you is he from whom nothing good is expected and one is not safe from his evil." (Tirmidhi, Sahih)
